City of Busselton Updates
WA Government Approval of Brown Street Affordable Housing Project: The State Government has approved the development application for a significant social and affordable housing project in Busselton on 5 June. The $19 million project, located opposite Churchill Park, will deliver 30 homes (22 one-bedroom, 8 two-bedroom apartments) by the end of 2026. It is funded via the WA Government's Housing Diversity Pipeline and homes will be built to Silver Liveable standards and 6-star NatHERS ratings. Read more
WA Youth Awards (2025 Nominations): Nominations for the 2025 WA Youth Awards were declared open on 8 June. Nominations are sought to recognise young people and youth organisations for their outstanding contributions to communities across Western Australia. This provides an opportunity to acknowledge deserving young individuals or youth groups from the Busselton-Dunsborough area. Read more
Western Australian Heritage Grants Program (2025-26 Round): Applications opened on 9 June for the 2025-26 round of the Western Australian Heritage Grants Program. Quindalup Beach Access and Carpark Works: Important beach access track rationalisation and coastal restoration works began at Quindalup Beach on 9 June. The works aim to protect native vegetation and prevent further coastal erosion by reducing the existing network of tracks to a main, fenced track. Works to beach access tracks are scheduled from 9 - 27 June, and the gravel carpark will be closed for a five-day period within this timeframe. The beach and foreshore footpath will remain open.
