Business Plan Fundamentals A workshop designed to help pre-start and new business owners, as well as existing owners without a plan, learn the key components of creating a business plan for growth, sustainability, and loan applications. It covers tips, common mistakes, and available resources, presented by Sana Turnock, Business Advisor at IPS Management Consultants. Funded by the State Government through the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC).

No Lights No Lycra Busselton A unique free-form dance session held in a dimly lit or dark room, offering a non-judgmental space for stress relief, joy of movement, and self-expression. Go Blue for June 2025: Blue High Tea A fundraising high tea with a "Blue" theme, part of the "Go Blue for June" flagship campaign by Busselton Hospice Care Inc. The event aims to raise awareness, funds, and community support for local end-of-life care services, including volunteer support, complementary therapies, and bereavement support. Busselton Hospice Care Inc. is a local not-for-profit that has served the community for over 30 years.

News

  • Go Blue for June Campaign: This is a month-long fundraising and awareness campaign taking place throughout Busselton. It involves Busselton community groups participating by wearing blue dresses to raise funds, with a walk planned along the foreshore as part of the activities.

  • Radiance South West GoFundMe: An ongoing crowdfunding effort is underway through GoFundMe to support vital services for South West families welcoming babies into their lives. This campaign aims to help the organization overcome a financial shortfall and continue providing crucial support.

City of Busselton Updates

  • Draft Local Planning Scheme No. 22 Advertising Approved for advertising on 28 May, announced on 29 May. The City of Busselton Council endorsed draft LPS22 for public advertising, initiating a period for public review and submissions on future land use and development for the municipality. This provides an important opportunity for public participation. Read more

  • Holgate Reserve Upgrade - Further Works Commencing A public notice was issued on 4 June regarding the commencement of further upgrade works shortly after this date, expected to continue until the end of August. These enhancements include the installation of a new all-access playground, provisions for shade sails, earthworks, irrigation, replacement turf, and new BBQ and picnic furniture. Site fencing will be erected within the park and temporary closure of adjacent car bays will be necessary. Options and costs for sewer connection for toilet facilities are still under investigation, with no current budget allocation. Read more

  • Holgate Rd to Forth St - Coastal Path Upgrade: Infrastructure improvements are continuing along the Busselton foreshore with this ongoing upgrade throughout May and June. The project involves the removal of the existing footpath to allow for widening and reinforcement, aimed at enhancing the quality and usability of this key community infrastructure. Temporary diversions or closures of affected sections may be required. Read more

  • Busselton Waste Facility – Groundwater Investigations: A long-term environmental management program continues in relation to groundwater contamination originating from the former facility on Rendezvous Road, Vasse. The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) provides regulatory oversight, and the City of Busselton is responsible for investigations, ongoing monitoring, and implementing remediation measures. 50 privately owned properties to the north and west of the closed landfill have been classified as "remediated for restricted use" with specific restrictions on the use of superficial groundwater. Scheme water (household tap water) is not affected. A precautionary measure advises against using shallow groundwater from the classified properties to irrigate home-grown produce. Read more

  • City Embraces Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative: The City formally announced its support for this initiative on 27 March, an ongoing program designed to raise awareness and foster better support for individuals living with disabilities that are not immediately obvious. Key staff members who frequently interact with customers have received specialized training to offer more compassionate, understanding, and effective support. This initiative reflects a dedication to creating an environment where all community members feel recognized, respected, and supported. Read more
